English c.1820 Sunderland Bridge rummer
An English bladed knop rummer with a bucket bowl engraved on one side with the Sunderland Bridge and swags with central stars on the other. This glass was probably made about 1820. The bridge was finished in 1796 and appears on glasses and pottery from that date onwards because it was an important feature on the River Wear being the first iron bridge in that area.
Height: 13.7 cms
