English c.1905 cut and engraved goblet
An English goblet made by Stevens and Williams about 1905. The flared bowl is rock crystal engraved and cut with three panels above which are groups of flowers with wheel engraved petals. The foot is marked for Stevens and Williams. One of the most important designers for this company at this period was Frederick Carder who shortly afterwards moved to America and made a major contribution to the development of the American glass industry. This may be one of his designs. Height 17.5 centimetres.
