Pair late 19th century champagne flutes
A pair of late 19th century French champagne flutes with inverted baluster stems and round funnel bowls acid etched with continuous circles. Although these glasses were probably made about 1880 the acid etched design is one of the earliest machine applied designs being found on glasses from the early 1860s. It remained popular for more than half century and can be seen on glasses which were sold at Woolworth’s as late as the 1920s.
